We are fast approaching the Workshop day and I am pleased to be able to now give you the running order for the day, along with other useful information.

I am very pleased that we will be approximately 160 singers plus the soloists and others who will be attending from the organisers in London. Christopher Wood himself will be attending. The day will be conducted by Dr. Simon Lindley and the Organist will be Paul Provost (Assistant organist at Guildford Cathedral).

We will be providing light refreshments throughout the day at registration and the intervals. If singers would like to bring their own packed lunch then this can be eaten in the Church. There are shops fairly close in Broomhill and this   is a 5 – 10 minute walk up the hill.

Scores, CDs and DVDs

Scores will be provided by the organisers for the event. These will be able to be purchased after the event for £5 each. If you are not intending to purchase a score then please try not to mark the score during the day or if you need to do so Very lightly, occasionally and in pencil.

CDs and DVDs of the work will also be available to buy at £5 each.

Informal performance at 17.00

If you have family or friends who you think might like to attend the informal performance to listen then they will be able to welcome a limited number for an entrance contribution of £2 per person.

Venue address, transport and parking

St Mark’s Church
Broomfield Road
Sheffield S10 2SE

Parking is an issue in Broomhill and there is no parking at the Church as this will be reserved for the Organisers. There is public parking around the area and most of this is metered.

It would therefore be most advisable to car share where possible, get dropped off by a family member or friend or come by public transport. The number 120 bus comes close and you should get off at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital

The unforeseen…

In the highly unlikely event that we need to cancel the day at short notice due to weather etc. then your choir contacts have given us their email addresses and telephone numbers and will be contacted to cascade the information to you. We will also try to post on the Sheffield Bach Choir website.

And finally…

We hope that this will a highly enjoyable day. It will be great for so many singers from different choirs to come together and I hope that new friends are made and some old acquaintances met!

There is a great team from the Sheffield Bach Choir who will be present on the day to ensure that all runs smoothly and I am particularly  grateful to Liz and Michael Buxton, our Choir Secretary and her husband, who will be there to welcome you.
